Jessica is a Manual Osteopath and a Massage Therapist with over 15 years of clinical experience. She is a member in good standing with the Nova Scotia Osteopathic Association. She enjoys treating people of all ages, and has successfully helped her clients with complex cases. ---
Jessica believes in the body's innate ability to heal itself with proper drainage, blood flow and alignment. She uses a dynamic approach to her treatments that can help get the body back on track to health and functionality. The initial visit consists of a detailed history and discussion of symptoms and mobility testing. In consultation with the client, Jessica will identify the neural, fascial and structural relationships that are at the root of the problem, and design a treatment plan accordingly. ---
A.T. Still, the founder of osteopathy, compares the body to a house. To optimize health it is important that the foundation is strong (i.e. the load bearing structures such as the pelvis and feet), the electrical systems are functioning properly (nervous system), and that the plumbing is in working order (lymphatic system/blood flow). Stormy periods in our life, whether from injury or stress or disease, can disrupt the structure, and Jessica excels at helping the body realign itself. Mental and emotional tensions often settle in our vulnerable areas, but with appropriate treatment, the structure can remain sound. ---
Jessica has successfully helped patients with debilitating headaches, overcome and manage chronic pain, referral pain, suffering from concussions, etc. She had a strong relationship with the concussion clinic in Antigonish; treating numerous concussion clients each week. ---
Jessica has a passion for travelling the world, when not in the clinic she is spending time with her family and planning their next adventure.
